Dan Tovrov is an award-winning writer living in Brooklyn, NY, with fifteen years’ experience putting words on the internet — and on real paper, too. Most recently, Dan spent seven years at Verizon, where he started as the marketing department’s only Proofreader and worked his way up to overseeing creative teams as the Head of Brand Voice.

Dan’s writing has been featured in Current Affairs, Lapham’s Quarterly, The Columbia Journalism Review, Sorbet Magazine, The Rumpus, ZYZZYVA, and other reputable publications. His story “The News Cycle” won a Pushcart Prize and was anthologized by the New York Public Library. His work has been supported by Sewanee Writers, VCCA, Bread Loaf, Dog Trot Artists Residency, and the Riviera Palm Springs.

As a freelance writer and editor, Dan’s worked with A24, Google News, Droga5, Type/Code, the International Rescue Committee, The Tamizdat Project, O/R Books, and many more brands and magazines.

Dan holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Tufts University. He enjoys books, the outdoors, and you may recognize him as Make-out Teen #2 from a Season 2 episode of CW’s Gossip Girl.
