Dan Tovrov is an award-winning writer living in Brooklyn, NY, with fifteen years’ experience putting words on the internet — and on real paper, too. Dan spent the last seven years at Verizon, where he started as the marketing department’s only Proofreader and worked his way up to overseeing creative teams as the Head of Brand Voice.
Dan’s writing has been featured in Sorbet Magazine, Lapham’s Quarterly, ZYZZYVA, The Columbia Journalism Review, The Rumpus and other reputable publications. His story “The News Cycle” won a Pushcart Prize and was anthologized by the New York Public Library. His work has been supported by Bread Loaf, Dog Trot Artists Residency, and the Riviera Palm Springs.
As a freelance writer and editor, Dan’s worked with A24, Google News, Droga5, Type/Code, the International Rescue Committee, and many more brands.
Dan holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Tufts University. He enjoys books, the outdoors, and you may also recognize him as Make-out Teen #2 from a Season 2 episode of CW’s Gossip Girl.
